A weekly exfoliation treatment routine by Dr. Jennifer Linder
This winter it’s important to keep our skin smooth and moisturized. To help you do so, we’re excited to share this exfoliating treatment that you can do once per week on the face or the body using your favorite products. Jennifer Linder, M.D., board-certified dermatologist and Chief Scientist for PCA SKIN, provides this easy weekly exfoliation treatment
Step 1: Cleanse with a dime-sized amount of exfoliating facial wash. Rinse with warm water and pat dry and then apply your favorite toner. If exfoliating the body, apply a quarter sized amount of exfoliant (try PCA SKIN’s Gentle Exfoliant) to the area of treatment and massage in gentle circular motions to remove dead surface cells.
Step 2: Apply an even layer of an exfoliating and detoxifying mask over the face and/or body. Leave on for approximately three to five minutes. Remove mask with warm water, using gentle circular motions, allowing the pumice to remove dead skin cells and buildup. Rinse with warm water and pat dry. One to try: PCA skin Purifying Mask which combines red algae and red clay to provide a rich blend of minerals, amino acids and enzymes, while simultaneously drawing impurities from the skin.
Step 3: After removing the mask, add any products to address particular concerns and skin care goals.
Step 4: Apply your choice of a broad spectrum SPF product for daytime and a moisturizer for nighttime. When treating the skin on the body, apply a broad spectrum sunscreen during the day and at night use a moisturizer such as Body Therapy which promotes a clear, even complexion.
