Inspired by coastal California and a lifelong love of gemstones, the Los Angeles designer creates personal pieces to wear, give, and treasure.
Jewelry often becomes part of our personal history. A bracelet reminds us of someone we love. A necklace marks a graduation, a fresh start, or a moment we wanted to remember. Over time, the pieces we reach for most can become as familiar as the stories behind them.
That connection is at the heart of Light + Grace Design, the Los Angeles jewelry line founded by artist, designer, and Reiki Master Johanna Lieberman. Inspired by sunlit water, moonlit horizons, and the ease of coastal living, her designs bring natural gemstones and precious metals into pieces meant for everyday life.
Two of her creations—the Truth Bracelet and Celestial Beauty Necklace—offer a beautiful introduction to that world, with tourmaline providing a thread of color and meaning between them.
A Creative Life Shaped by the Sea
Johanna’s love of beauty, gemstones, and open water runs through her work. Coming from a family of artists, she brings an artistic sensibility to jewelry that feels refined and relaxed, with color and detail that invite a closer look.
Her background in psychology, somatic healing, and Reiki also informs her approach. She designs with an interest in the experiences people carry: love, change, celebration, grief, and the process of finding their way through a new chapter.
Within that philosophy, jewelry becomes a personal talisman—something chosen for its beauty and for what it represents to its wearer. Johanna incorporates Reiki into her creative practice, describing each piece as infused with intention.
The coastal influence gives those ideas a distinct visual expression. Light moves through colored stones; delicate chains leave room for the gemstones to stand out. These are pieces that would feel at home with an open linen shirt, a favorite sweater, or a dress chosen for an evening out.
The Truth Bracelet: A Signature in Tourmaline
Early in the development of Light + Grace, Johanna found herself surrounded by green tourmaline. The gemstone went on to become central to the brand’s identity, finding a particularly personal expression in the Truth Bracelet.
The design places a single tourmaline stone at the wrist, framed by a band of gold hematite or silver pyrite. In the submitted photograph, a rectangular green stone sits among warm, golden beads. Its clean shape gives the bracelet a focal point, while the repeated beads create texture around it.
There is an appealing simplicity to the design. It brings a touch of color to the wrist without requiring an elaborate outfit or a special occasion. Wear it on its own to appreciate the stone and its setting, or pair it with other bracelets collected over time.
Johanna associates tourmaline with strength, truth, and wholeness; hematite with grounding and courage; and pyrite with clarity and confidence. Those symbolic connections are part of the meaning she brings to the collection and may offer a starting point for choosing a piece for yourself or someone close to you.
The Truth Bracelet is available in green, pink, or teal, with small, medium, or large stone options. Handcrafted in Los Angeles and infused with Reiki as part of Johanna’s practice, it is also a design she describes as a frequent choice for friendship gifts, mothers and daughters, and graduations.
That sense of connection suits the bracelet. It is easy to imagine two people choosing different colors of the same design, each wearing a reminder of the other.
The Celestial Beauty Necklace: Seven Stones, Delicate Color
The Celestial Beauty Necklace carries tourmaline into a more airy design, arranging seven stones along a delicate gold or silver chain.
Available with round or emerald-cut tourmaline in teal, green, or pink, the necklace allows color to appear at intervals around the neckline. The submitted image shows green stones linked along a gold chain, with their varied tones and facets giving the piece depth.
The space between the gemstones is part of its appeal. Each stone has room to catch the light, while the chain keeps the overall look delicate. Worn alone, it offers an understated way to introduce gemstone color into an everyday wardrobe.
The necklace can sit at the throat or adjust to a longer length, creating different possibilities for necklines and layering. A shorter setting would sit beautifully above an open collar; a longer setting could accompany another favorite chain.
For Johanna, tourmaline’s association with the heart is central to the design. That symbolism, together with the seven-stone arrangement, gives the necklace a personal dimension beyond its appearance. Like the Truth Bracelet, it is made in Los Angeles and incorporates Reiki into the making process.
Choosing Jewelry That Feels Personal
The Truth Bracelet and Celestial Beauty Necklace share a gemstone, yet each has its own character. The bracelet draws attention to one stone against a textured band. The necklace distributes color along a fine chain, creating a lighter, more open composition.
They can be worn together, with matching tourmaline tones providing continuity, or chosen separately according to the way you like to dress. Green offers rich color alongside the warmth of gold; pink and teal provide other ways to make the designs your own.
For gifting, that choice matters. A favorite color, a meaningful milestone, or a shared connection can guide the selection. The result is a piece with a story attached from the moment it is given.
Johanna describes Light + Grace as “jewelry to adorn your story.” These two designs make that idea tangible: thoughtfully composed gemstone pieces with room for the wearer’s own memories and meaning.
