By Carla Snuggs
Now that summer is here, it’s time to switch up our summer nail colors to reflect the new season. Don’t get stuck in a nail rut; experiment with something new! Posh Beauty Blog tapped Celebrity Manicurist Carla Kay. Carla Kay shares her insider tips for this summer's nail trends. These summer 2014 nail polish trends will have your nails looking fabulous all season long.
White Nail Polish and Temporary Tattoos
White nail polish is trending this summer. It's simple, clean and bright. “I've been pairing white polish with super fun and cool temporary tattoos called Flash Tattoos to add around the finger or hand. It's a great way to accessorize a manicure. You can even cut the Flash Tattoos and apply to your nails for to add design or create an accent nail,” says Carla.
How to: Let the polish dry and place the tattoo on the nail with a damp cloth and it adheres to the nail. Follow up with a top coat like Duri Cosmetics Miracote. It seals the polish and tattoo, so it will last up to 7 days. For a great white polish, try Duri Cosmetics Ghost retailing for $6 at Duri.com." (Shown: Ghost)
Colored French Manicure
Another trend emerging is colored French Manicure. I paired purple with a small mint green French tip for an easy way to stay simple with nail art and still look fresh for a summer.
Neon Nails and Accent Nails
"Also, I always love neons for summer with one accent nail on each hand. It's fun and doesn't get too busy with a lot of nail art," says Carla
