Diamonds may be a girl’s best friend, but pearls may be the wiser, more fashionable choice in 2017.
From the runways of New York Fashion Week to the necks, ears and wrists of Hollywood’s A-list celebs, pearl accessories are trending. Allure Magazine put it nicely when they said we are in the middle of a pearl renaissance. Everyone from Kim Kardashian and Lupita N'yongo to Kris Jenner, Caitlyn Jenner, Ellen DeGeneres, Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama are sporting the pearl look. And while 2015 was a record year for pearls – up 369% in value to be exact – it looks as though 2016 may have set the bar even higher.
This spring, expect designers to showcase pearl colors that go with the season - florals and pastels are very hot. Peach, pinks, shades of purple and gold will go well as the country starts to thaw, coats come off and sundresses go on! And these colored pearls make great gifts.
This multicolored freshwater pearl bracelet from The Pearl Source is a great example. Note the floral and pastel tones of each gemstone. For a simple, classic look at an affordable price, gift some freshwater pink pearl studs. For something brighter, you can pair any spring ensemble with bronze, green or silver studs.
Whatever your style, you can find a way to work pearls into it this Spring. From edgy to classic, there’s a look that will work for you if you know how to be creative.
