When a beauty product comes wrapped in layers of plastic, it often sends the wrong message, no matter how good the formula is.

Plastic waste in cosmetics has also become hard to ignore. Bottles, caps, pumps, and outer boxes add up fast. Most of these items are used once and tossed away. Recycling sounds good in theory, but in practice, a lot of beauty packaging never makes it through the system.

Brand transparency plays a role here too. Consumers expect brands to be open about their choices, including packaging. When companies explain why they chose certain materials and how they’re trying to reduce waste, people listen. Silence or vague claims don’t work anymore.
