A thick messy braid is the epitome of carefree, cool-girl style, and you can get the look in a few simple steps. Celebrity Hairstylist and Fudge Urban Brand Ambassador Lou Teasdale, aka the ultimate cool girl and stylist for One Direction, shares her technique for creating the perfect plait with a little Salt Spray and Powder Styler.  

Step 1: Spray Fudge Urban Sea Salt right though the ends

Step 2: Rough dry and finger comb

Step 3: Loosely curl your hair suing a curling wand throughout

Step 4: Backcomb the crown for height

Step 5: Create a section around the back of your head on the braid side and backcomb the root to attach the clips to

Step 6: Apply clip-in hair piece and shake Fudge Urban Powder Styler into the ends of the hair

Step 7: Find three loose sections and create your braid, then pull apart with fingers to tousle
