How to use Azul Skin Health Radiance Cleansing Oil to double cleanse
By Carla Snuggs

This month, when Azul Skin Health sent me their Radiance Cleansing OIl, I wanted to make sure that I was getting the most out of it. Cleansing oils are used to break down makeup, dirt, excess sebum, and pollution on the skin’s surface. They are also the first step of the double cleanse.

I enlisted the help of Toby Dash, beauty blogger at fivestarskincare.co, to learn more about the best ways to use cleansing oil and the benefits of double cleansing. Here are Toby’s best tips!

1. As a rule, cleansing oils should be applied to dry skin. We find it best to apply a bit of product to fingertips first, to warm and emulsify the oil before applying it to the skin.

2. Massage the product onto your face by applying the oil to your skin in circular motions with your fingertips. This will create the friction that heats both the skin and the product, opening your pores and allowing the oil to get down into them more deeply.

3. With the help of a warm, wet washcloth or sponge, swipe (with light pressure) over the skin in single-direction motions. Focus on areas like the lids, lashes, brows, and under eyes where oil tends to gather.

4. Continue to rinse your cloth with warm water and repeat the previous step until your skin feels clean and supple. If you’ve still got remnants of mascara or lipstick sticking around after your initial cleanse, place a few drops of cleansing oil on a warm, damp cotton round and use it to gently wipe off the remaining makeup.

5. Follow up with a second cleanse. This part is completely optional but may be necessary depending on your skin type and concerns. The oil cleansing method helps to remove oil, dirt, and makeup, and a second cleanse can add its own benefits. If your complexion needs some added exfoliation, opt for an AHA-infused cleanser that will help slough away dead skin cells. And if it’s thirsting for hydration, try a milky or creamy cleanser that’s got glycerin or hyaluronic acid in it.

Azul Skin Health Radiance Cleansing Oil Review

About Azul Skin Health Cleansing OIl: Cleansing oils are taking over the beauty industry and for good reason! Instead of using your everyday soaps and face washes that can strip your skin of its natural oils, oil cleansing is a much more gentle and moisturizing alternative. Washing your face with a cleansing oil helps balance oil production, heal acne, and melt your makeup right off while nourishing and hydrating your skin. This cleansing oil boasts Hemp Seed Oil, Argan Oil, Jojoba Oil, Marula and Tamanu Oils along with a number of essential oils.  Active Ingredients: Pentavitin, Mallow Extract, Edelweiss extract.

My thoughts:

I have been using Azul Skin Health Radiance Cleansing oil to remove my makeup and to double cleanse for several weeks. I have to preface this review with letting you know I had been using coconut oil or oil-based makeup remover wipes to remove my makeup. I also used to double cleanse with a cleansing oil years ago, but stopped for some unknown reason.

I absolutely love this cleansing oil. It is a really beautiful cleansing oil with an earthy, woodsy scent. It feels light but it is very powerful. My skin feels very nourished and hydrated after cleansing with it. It does an excellent job of removing eye makeup and lipstick and foundation that has been layered for full coverage. It is amazing how much dirt, oil, residue and makeup I had been leaving behind. Yuck.

For the second cleanse, I use Azul Skin Health’s Botanical Cleanser with Green Tea and then follow up with their Green Tea Moisturizer. My skin is left feeling so hydrated and soft and glowing. I now make sure to double cleanse regularly especially when I have worn makeup.
