Upgrade Your Bath Time Routine {Skincare}

There is nothing better than a nice, hot relaxing bath at the end of a stressful day! Remember when I shared shower mistakes you may be making and helped you upgrade your shower routine? Well, Posh Beauty Blog is all about little upgrades that make your experience even more beautiful,  so I thought it would be great to show you have to enhance your bathing experience, too,  to make it even more posh, luxe and fabulous! Julie Kim of Saison Beauty shares the following tips with Posh Beauty Blog to help take your bathing experience to the next level.

Water Temperature:  Set the water temperature to approximately 98°.  You’ll want the water around or slightly above your own body temperature, but anything over 100° will be too hot.  You may risk burning or too much stress on your heart, depending your health condition.

Gentle Stretching: Since warm water stimulates blood flow to stiff muscles and joints, this is a good opportunity to squeeze in a few gentle stretches to help relax the muscles.

Epsom Salts: 2 great benefits to adding Epsom Salts to your bath is that 1) the magnesium content can be absorbed through your skin and helps produce serotonin, which helps your body calm down and relax, and 2) the sulfates in the Epsom Salts help flush out the toxins and heavy metals from your body.

Teas/Flowers/Herbs: These will add an aromatherapy benefit to your bath. Depending on what you are looking to achieve, the following could be added:

  • Calming/Anti-inflammatory To Help Soothe Skin Irritations: Green Tea or Chamomile

  • Calming/Mellow Mood: Lavender or Rose

  • Stimulating/Energizing: Peppermint
