Skincare Products for Eczema Relief

New skincare products for eczema relief in honor of Eczema Awareness month

October is not only Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it’s also Eczema Awareness Month. Eczema, in general terms, is a chronic recurring skin disorder that results in dry, easily irritated, itchy skin.  You can find out more about eczema at Nationaleczema.org.

As someone who suffers from occasional eczema outbreaks and was fed up with occasional patches of itchy, dry, thickened skin, I appreciate skincare products that help soothe or prevent eczema or reduce or prevent scarring due to eczema. If you have eczema outbreaks, you may be familiar with common skincare offerings like Neosporin, Eucerin, Aveeno and Cetaphil. However, there are some newer products that may be just as effective, or even more effective, than your usual treatments. Here are a few skincare products that work well for treating eczema and eczema scars.

1) First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream: Ultra Repair Cream is a great solution for treating eczema and for moisturizing dry, itchy, irritated skin. This rich, whipped cream contains colloidal oatmeal to treat eczema and it offers 168% immediate improvement in hydration ($28, Sephora.com).

2) Healfast Scarblock: Scarblock is excellent for use on eczema areas to help prevent scaring and to help visibly reduce the scars that have occurred due to eczema. The Ovasome Technology used in HealFast Scarblock incorporates over 70 vitamins, minerals and proteins that gives the body what it needs to heal and look normal. It will help to increase cell turnover, collagen and elasticity in the area. It is also free of fragrances, parabens and artificial colors ($50, Healfastskincare.com).

3) Amarte Wonder Cream: This is both a powerful anti-aging cream and a great treatment for eczema. Amarte Wonder Cream contains a unique mushroom emollient that enhances immunity and shields skin from inflammatory triggers, irritation, environmental toxins and UV damage. Mushrooms are a natural anti-inflammatory which calm and sooth irritating skin conditions like eczema, acne and rosacea. Great multitasking cream! ($79, Amarteskincare.com).

4) Sebamed Olive Face & Body Wash: Traditional soap is too alkaline and strips skin causing the pH to rise, triggering inflammation. Sebamed Olive Face & Body Wash  is a soap-free 2-in-1 skin soother for face and body, formulated at the perfect pH 5.5 with an ultra-nourishing olive complex to nix the flakiness, redness and bumps. Sebamed also has an Eczema & Sensitive Skin Care System which includes the Olive Face & Body Wash ($44.95, Sebamedusa.comor try Sebamed Liquid Face & Body Wash ($12.99, Walgreens.com).
