Wedding Makeup Trends For Beautiful Brides

According to The Knot, couples spend $100 on average for the services of a makeup artist for their wedding. Having your makeup done on your big day is a wonderful way of enhancing your natural beauty and making you feel special. Wedding makeup should last all day and help you to feel confident. But this year's makeup trends are moving away from traditional bridal glamour. Instead many brides are choosing understated natural makeup with a beautiful glow. Glitter and sparkle will never go out of fashion either, and jeweled makeup is on trend.

Natural shine

Many brides wear more makeup on their wedding day than they ordinarily would, just so that it lasts all day long. Even if you are wearing slightly more foundation than normal, it doesn’t mean that it can’t look radiant. When you are wearing natural makeup for your wedding, applying a primer before you put on foundation can help your skin glow. A primer will stop the oils on your skin from wearing down your foundation. It will also give your skin an even tone without any blotches. For a natural look, choose a lightweight foam-based foundation that makes the skin look sun-kissed and healthy, without blocking any pores. Creating natural shine can then be done with a little bronzer applied sparingly.

Jewels and glitter

Jeweled and glitter eye makeup can give the perfect pop of color on your wedding day, and is a great way to show your exuberant personality. Rhinestone makeup can add some glitz, but isn’t always easy to apply, and a makeup artist can perfect this for you. Delicate diamond rhinestones look beautiful when placed on the eyelid along with a shimmering silver eyeshadow. It is also popular to have a gem-lined crease between the eyelids and brows. Glitter eyeshadow is a fun look, particularly if you are going for vintage bridal fashion. Bronze, copper and gold glitter will work well with most color schemes.

Bold lips

Often the emphasis is on the eyes when it comes to bridal makeup, but this year there is a big trend for bold lips. Romantic colors like deep rose or mulberry pair well with a softly-defined eye and can make a big impact. If you’re going for a red, it’s worth experimenting before your big day. Try a shade darker than your normal color, and you may be surprised by the results. A darker red can be elegant and sophisticated and works well for most complexions. You should also try several different brands out, as some lipsticks may be less likely to rub off when you are eating, drinking (and of course kissing) during the day.

Wedding makeup is all about enhancing your natural beauty and showing off the best version of yourself. With the right makeup you can feel confident and special on your big day.
