Beachy Waves Tutorial

Step 1: Start by sectioning the hair about 1 1/2 inches from the nape in the back of the head. Once hair is sectioned, you will take 1 inch sections across the back of the head.

Step 2: Start on the left side, spray the 1 inch section with Hair Resort Spray, then take the iron in your right hand and point the iron downward. Wrap the hair starting closest to the handle of the iron so that your first wrap goes over the barrel of the iron. (This technique will leave more volume in the hair once brushed through at the end) Wrap the hair so that it twists around the barrel as it is wrapping around. Then switch hands and with the left hand point the iron downward, towards your shoulder, and use the other hand to wrap the hair around the barrel. Continue with 1 inch sections, as many times as needed to, spraying Hair Resort along the way.

Step 3: Once you finish the lower sections of the hair, then let more hair down from the top of the head, and repeat the same steps, until you have curled the entire head of hair, except for leaving the front 2 sections for the end of your styling. For the front pieces, they should also be about 1 inch sections.

Step 4: Take the iron and do the same thing for the front pieces, but make sure to curl away form the face. Once the hair has been completely curled you should have ribbon curls throughout.

Step 5: Take a wide tooth comb or your fingers, pull through all of the curls until they break up and look wavy. To give the curls some beachy texture, use an anti frizz paste like Easy Rider mixed with Young Again Serum and let it emulsify in your hand. Then, run the product through your hair from mid-shaft to the ends, and finish it off lightly with Session Spray.
