One of the easiest ways to achieve that effortlessly chic French girl hair – simply swap in a velvet or satin ribbon to fasten your tails and chignons. Be sure the ribbon is not too wide, about half an inch is ideal.
Short Hair? Don’t Care!
Long hair doesn’t have to have all the fun! Short hair braids are extremely easy to do! Just braid the hairline and secure the braid behind the ear with small clear elastic. Wendy Iles recommends using the elastics of teeth braces as they are small enough to secure the ends almost invisibly without bulk under your short lengths. Just one little braid can spunk up your look!
Knots are still in, but be sure they are tight knots and not buns . The mode is keep them small and high, right on top of the head.
Braids, braids, crown braids and more braids!
Love braids but want to make it unique? Make a small change that’s different from your “normal” like simply adding 1 or 2 skinny braids. Attach the ends with teeth brace clear elastics so they stay small or simply tie them with sewing thread so the stay discrete.
For the Crown Braid: Simply part hair into 2 bunches down middle to center back. Braid each bunch behind the ears like 2 long school girl braids. Secure ends with elastic so they don’t unravel. Wrap them around the head by bringing them forward (the ends usually meet in the middle of the head). Fold both ends inside of each other to cover elastics and pin in place. Add a few extra pins to secure that the braids stay in place around edges and Voila! Wendy especially likes it with bangs.
